Erin “Effie” Shepard was a Newcomb artist specializing in ceramics decoration, watercolor and metalwork.
Born in New Orleans on November 8, 1883, Shepard followed the Normal Art program at Newcomb College, receiving her diploma in 1903. Listed as a Graduate Art student from 1903–09, she joined the ranks of Art Craftsman from 1910–13. She distinguished herself in the field of pottery decoration, ceramic jewelry, and was an award winning watercolorist.
Erin “Effie” Shepard died on December 8, 1917. She was 34 years old.
