Ignacio Mundó was a Spanish painter working in the post-impressionist and fauvism style. He was active in Barcelona, Paris, Rome and Madrid. Mundo was born 1918 in Barcelona and studied at the Barcelona Arts and Crafts School, along with notable Spanish painter Joaquin Mir Trinxet and Spanish sculptor Manolo. In 1945 Mundo moved to Paris, where he was influenced by Georges Braque, Roland Oudot and François Desnoyer. Mundo belonged to the Sala Parés salon in Barcelona and was an associate member of the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris. Through his career, he was awarded the Cézanne Medal in 1958, the City of Terrassa in 1959, the Sant Jordi award in1966 and the City of Barcelona award in 1967. His work can be found in many collections throughout Spain. Mundo died in 2012.
