The Eagle Pottery Company was owned by Charles Hyten from Benton, Arkansas. Hyten stated making pottery with his brothers in 1897, in 1906 he opened Eagle Pottery. Hyten was inspired by a nearby pottery company, Ouachaita Pottery, to make neriage swirl pottery. This method of making pottery was an instant success. They were sold under the name of Niloak. The Niloak pottery was trademarked.
